Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices of keto bread (look for a brand with low net carbs, or make your own)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 breakfast sausage patties (check for low-carb options)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or ghee
  • 1 slice of cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: avocado slices, spinach, or keto-friendly condiments (check carb count)

Instructions
 

  • Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
  • While the pan is heating, prepare your keto bread by toasting it in a toaster or on a separate dry skillet until lightly golden and crisp.
  • In the same pan, cook the breakfast sausage patties according to the package instructions until they are browned and fully cooked. Remove the sausages from the pan and set them aside.
  • Reduce the heat to low, and in the same skillet, melt half of the butter or ghee.
  • Crack the eggs into the pan, one at a time, and cook them to your preference (fried, scrambled, or sunny-side-up). Season the eggs with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Once the eggs are cooked, assemble the sandwich. Place one slice of keto bread on a plate and top it with one cooked egg, followed by a sausage patty, and a slice of cheddar cheese.
  • Add any optional toppings you desire, such as avocado slices or spinach.
  • Place the second slice of keto bread on top to complete the sandwich.
  • Optionally, you can warm the sandwich in the skillet for a few seconds to slightly melt the cheese and bring all the flavors together.
